Our taxi got to the hotel at 8:30 am, so we had an early breakfast. It was an eventful taxi ride into the middle of nowhere. The road was paved for the first 5 minutes, which was longer than I was expecting. There was lots of wildlife on the side of the road, most notably two bulls fighting. We passed an army base with soldiers and finally got to our destination. A boat at a small dock. Someone came to meet us and took our bags while a guy who introduced himself as Don Juan. He took us for a quick tour of the village, cows, chickens, and stray dogs roamed the streets. We got back to the boat and hopped in along with another group that arrived. We were taken along the river to our cruise boat and were shown to our rooms and given a tour. The boat had three levels the bottom was guest rooms, a tiny museum, and a pool. The middle floor had a dinning room and decks. The top has the captains bridge and a viewing platform. The days were organized into breakfast at 8:00 am, lunch at 12:30 pm, and dinner at 6:30 pm. Usually after lunch there is a siesta until 3 ish and an activity until dinner. On this first day we went to an indigenous village and had a tour of different trees and fruits that were there in it. The village was raising money to build a church and the cruise was paying them to allow us to be there. We got back to the boat, had dinner and went to bed really early.
